As a young man, Kentucky music store owner Marvin Maxwell, fashioned a guitar from a toilet lid. Twenty-five years later it suddenly occurred to him "to turn the idea around 180 degrees." He commissioned fellow drummer and business partner David Boone to build the prototype.
